Icarus: Dangerous Horizons - Environment Art

I was the de facto environment artist for Icarus' Dangerous Horizons DLC. While we reused most of our environment assets for the new map, much of it was reskinned with different materials, kit-bashed into something new, or both - with the notable exception of trees and foliage (made by Joe Cook and Brent Kirby), I touched most things at one point or another. These are some examples of assets I was fully responsible for.

Geothermal Terraces:
I originally made these for the New Frontiers DLC, but created several extra variations and a new material to fit them into the geothermal biome.
Alien Rocks:
We needed some weird factor for the starting area. The brief was to make a rock collection that would feel deliberately 'out of place'. Later on in the production they found another use as set dressing for the radioactive zones. Concept by George Lovesy.
Virtual Texture Decals:
I created several different decals for adding color and visual interest to the landscape, particularly for the geothermal biome. These get painted down as instanced foliage which then get written into the landscape RVT.
